Each day, we are reminded that the moral fabric of our society is under attack. Violence on our streets and in our homes often represents the failure of parents and community to instill in children the character traits needed to become responsible, capable adults. But it’s not enough to attribute the failure to parents and the community. The root cause of the failure is the real story:

• Some parents need help developing their parenting skills.           
• Teachers often lack the lessons, materials and training to effectively reinforce character education in their classrooms.           
• Community members have the opportunity to reinforce character education, but often lack the requisite skills to do so effectively.

EPIC is more than just an advocate for parenting and character education.  We provide the programs, workshops, materials and platforms through which parents, teachers, and community members can become better prepared and get the training and tools they need to effectively raise responsible and capable children.

Private donations are very important to us not just because they provide financial support, but because they represent community endorsement of our programs and involvement.

Donations are tax deductible (to the extent allowed by State and Federal laws), and donations make it possible for EPIC to:

• extend its programs and services further into additional communities,           
• reach more parents directly, and through our facilitator training programs,           
• build stronger home-school partnerships, and           
• collaborate with community organizations (e.g. faith-based groups, hospitals, and correctional institutions) in delivering EPIC’s parenting skills workshops and character education programs throughout the community in which you live.
